Thomson
Scott Thomson

Arms: Azure a stag’s head cabossed Argent, attired of ten tynes Or, between the attires is placed a millrind Argent, and in Chief a lion passant Guardant per pale, Or and Argent.

Crest: a dexter cubit arm proper sleeved in the Thomson tartan, the hand holding a cross crosslet fitchée paleways Gules.

Motto: NOLI OBLIVISCE.

Grant: 27 May 1992 in the 87th page of the 73rd Volume of the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland.

The Stag represents my Thomson heritage, and the Lion Passant Guardant in chief is taken from the O'Brien arms as my Mother was an O'Brien. The millrind commemorates my father's profession as a Millwright. I wanted the cross crosslet fitchée as my crest as it is a common charge on Thomson arms, and it is well used in Aberdeenshire/Kincardineshire heraldry, where my family has worked the land for at least the last 400 years.
