Dr. John J. Fitzpatrick Kennedy F.R.S.A.I., F.R.H.S.C., A.I.H.

Arms: Argent, on a chevron Gules between in chief two crosses crosslet fitchy Sable and in base an Irish Harp Proper, an eagle displayed Or.
Crest: a demi-wolf-hound
Motto: Dia an tard-ri
Grant: Chief Herald of Canada dated 15 March, 2013, Vol VI, P. 216 of the Public Register of Arms of Arms Flags and Badges of Canada.

The new Arms reflect a Scots connection, with two cross crosslets fitchy in chief (which I think of as referring to St. Patrick and St. Columba) and in base an Irish Harp. The red chevron is charged with an eagle displayed to reflect my own birth in the USA (New York City) and my military service in US Army Intelligence (1968-1971) during the Vietnam conflict, as well as a connection with John the Evangelist's symbol. The crest is a wolfhound in reference to the famous Cuchulain, the "Hound of Ulster" in the Táin Bð Cuailnge epic. Differenced arms for my son Daniel Joseph, B.A., J.D., M.A. (a label Gules) and my daughter Joanna, B.A., M.A., Ph. D (cand.) (a bordure Or) are also detailed in the New Grant.
