General Bailey Bruce McCune of Coll-Earn & Elphinstone, Baron of Elphinstone

Arms: Per fess Azure and Or, a pale counter-changed, three garbs of the Second two and one and three lions rampant of the First each gorged of a ducal coronet of the Second one and two.

Crest: the trunk of an oak tree sprouting Proper charged of a garb Or

Granted: The Court of the Lord Lyon 27th May 1988. Lyon Register, vol. 71, folio 61.

The Lyon Office asked if I wished to submit a heraldic design or if I wished the Lord Lyon to draw based upon the traditional McCune Arms. I chose the latter which was based upon the Lyon Conjectural Tree as a royal line descended from the Kings of Ireland - the lion reflects this. As my family have always been landed the garb of wheat denotes the Lairdship over such lands from our Colonial Loyalist Grants to the current time.
