William Edward Peter Louis Drummond-Murray of Mastrick
Arms: Quarterly : first, Azure on a fess between two mullets in chief and a pheon in base Argent a dexter hand between two crescents Gules (for Murray of Mastrick); Second, Or, three bars wavy, within a bordure engrailed Gules (for Drummond of Denham Fishery); third, Or, a lion's head erased, within a double tressure flory-counterflory Gules (as a coat of augmentation for the House of Drummond, Viscount of Strathallan); fourth, Azure semée of cross-crosslets fitchée Argent, three boars' heads couped Or, armed and langued Gules, a chief of the third, within a bordure Or (for Heaven of Ashfield); overall at the fess point an inescutcheon quarterly; first and fourth, Gules a cross saltire and orle of chains Or, with an annulet Gold stoned Vert in the fess point (for the Royal House of Navarre); second and third, parted per pale Gules and Or, three fleurs-de-lys, two and one, all counterchanged (for Ramirez de Arellano).
Crests: Above the shield are placed two helms befitting his degree, that on the dexter with a mantling Azure doubled Argent and on a wreath of the Liveries is set for Crest:- a classic column between two palm branches all Proper (for Murray of Mastrick) and in an escrol over the same this Motto LORD HAVE MERCY; that on the sinister with a mantling Gules doubled Or, and on a wreath of the Liveries is set for Crest:- an eagle reguardant rising Proper with a glory about its head Or, gorged of a collar engrailed Gules (for Drummond of Denham Fishery) and in an escrol over the same this Motto AYE GANG WARILY.
Motto: (below the shield) FIDELITE
Supporter: The shield is placed in front of the Imperial Eagles (videlicet: -a double-headed eagle displayed Sable, beaked and membered Or, imperially crowned Proper, supporting in its dexter claw a sword and sceptre Proper and in its sinister a globe Azure banded and crossed Or) which Imperial Eagles were borne by and inherited from his maternal ancestors the Princes and Counts of Ramirez de Arellano who were granted these supporters by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V and are limited to the heirs male of his body, failing whom, the heirs of his body bearing the name and arms of Drummond-Murray of Mastrick.
Matriculated: Courtof the Lord Lyon, 1st July 1970. Register, Volumn LIII folio 4.
Recorded at The Ministry of Justice, Madrid, Spain, on 4th November 1968, with a count's coronet and imperial eagle supporter to be borne by all members of the family "sus descendientes."
In the above rendition of my arms are marshalled with the arms of my wife, the Honourable Barbara Mary Hope (Hope of Heron's Ghyll, later Lord Rankeillour). They are blazoned, Azure on achevron Or between three besants a bay leaf slipped Vert a bordure ermine for difference. (Lyon Court 9th November 1893, Volume 13 folio 12).
The arms were painted by my mother, Eulalia Drummond-Murray.
