Very Rev. Professor Iain R. Torrance TD DD FRSE

Arms: Per pale Ermine and Or, two oars in saltire Azure, on a chief Gules a cross potent cantoned of four plain crosslets Or, between two closed books proper clasped of the last, within a bordure chequy Or and Gules.

Crest: A bull’s head erased proper gorged with an Eastern Crown Or.

Motto: Rex Regum mihi Salus

The matriculation with a suitable difference as the second son of The Very Reverend Professor Thomas Forsyth Torrance MBE DD FBA was granted by Interlocutor of The Lord Lyon King of Arms dated 31 December 1973, and is to be found on the 104th page of the 56th volume of the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland, 15th July 1974.
