East Ayrshire Council

Per fess or and gyronny ermine and gules; a fess wavy checky or and vert edged azure, and in chief, a pine tree fructed proper, between dexter a lozenge sable and sinister a cog wheel gules

The bearings are new to Scottish heraldry (though the burgh of Kilmarnock, now in East Ayrshire, had squirrels for supporters in its bearings), but there are references to the arms of the old district councils of Cumnock and Doon Valley, and Kilmarnock and Loudon, and hence back to the pre 1975 burgh of Kilmarnock, though not to the other old burghs now in East Ayrshire

community councils with bearings - none
