Public Register - 81/10; 23 October 1998
The arms are a ‘differenced’ version of the pre 1996 Cydebank District Council’s - the differences being the elephant (replacing a ‘representation of part of the Antonine wall’), the liner on a point (replacing a lymphad on waves of the sea), and the addition of the dove. And so they refer back to the arms of the pre 1975 Burgh of Clydebank’. The motto is new.
